David,
This is the Weird At One Frequency (WAOF) problem.
Check out Builder's Alert #11 on the Elecraft website and while you are
there, download the instructions for the A to B upgrade which contains
additional steps for dealing with this problem.

Kevin,
By my rough estimate: 2200Z - 8 hours (Pacfic Time Zone difference) =
1400 local time. I believe that is 2 pm ?
I could be wrong, I have always had trouble with globes,
degrees/min/secs, and adding it all up.

Hi Folks,
my problem:
After finishing all adjustments and calibration (also CAL tPA) without any
problems, I wat to recheck the CAL tPA. Now on my display only tPA 0C
shown. Is not possible to change temperature by VFO-knob.
Many thanks Lutz (DL7AVC)
Many thanks, I was confused but now it works fine.

It sure is, isn't it? One small gray box, that brings
together a lot of what amateur radio is all about.

Hi,
This is, and isn't off topic. I need a sound card for my K2 for PSK31. I
have been using a USB Creative MP3+, but first the speaker output
amplifiers went west (I'd be offended if I lived in California); anyway
they don't work, then the headphone amplifiers went that way too. I
Yeah, Kevin moved his clocks in the wrong direction!

I've only done this with laptop, but I got it to work just fine (using
a USB connected Sound Blaster as the secondary). Make sure the
motherboard sound is enabled in the bios setup screen. Win XP should
detect it and prompt you to install drivers. If you want the additional

I'm in the process of winding T1 and T2 for the KSB2.
The illustration shows that winding 1-2 is wound in the opposite
direction from 3-4. Is this correct? All of the toroids in the K2 have
1-2 and 3-4 in the same direction.
I only noticed this because in the K2 the green wire fit nicely in
It has been brought to my attention that 4 PM PST is 2400z.
Thus the nets today will be held at:
Sunday 2400z (Sunday 4pm PST) 14050 kHz
Monday 0300z (Sunday 7pm PST) 7045 kHz
Sorry for the confusion :(

Hi, Brian-
It is fine to allow the secondary windings of KSB2 T1,T2 to nest with their
respective primary windings. In other words, listen to your instincts and
wind them in the same direction. In this instance, the sense of the
primary in relation to its secondary is unimportant.

My K2 AF gain knob is getting really wobbly, and seems to be getting
worse. I pulled the knob off and took a look. The plastic shaft on the
pot is getting loose where it fits into the metal body of the pot. Looks
like I'll need a new pot.
I just built the K2 this summer, so it's still quite new.
I think you pushed too strong on the plastic knob when you installed
it. You could read in the manual the we must not push to hard to break
it You must change the POT. I ordered a few last summer... just in
case... because I broke one that way.

Yeah, same here. And the power pot is a little wobbly too -- I guess
because these two are the most used (for me). My radio is about 13
months old.
Think I am too lazy to actually fix it until it breaks, but maybe
