Gary, just a possibility - have you checked the CONFIG:AF GAIN setting?
It can be HI or LO and the default is LO.

This does not affect the sidetone level which is independent of the AF
gain setting.

I have now completed my modification by installing the replacement power
module. The changes required to fit the new module are very simple, it is
just a matter of removing 2 links and one inductor and installing one link
and two resistors, plus the module.

Bob,
Those DC voltages are not significant to your problem.
The BFO signal is routed through the KSB2 board and for SSB it serves as
the carrier frequency for the balanced modulator while on CW the
components around Q3 route the BFO signal from P1 pin 12 , through Q3
and back out to P1 pin

Eric,
Great news your having the K3 wide-range TX mechanism implemented!
Do you have any information about the TX frequencies (or ranges of
frequencies) supported (or NOT supported, whichever is easier) when
operating the transmitter out-of-band? Even a rough idea would be very
helpful.

Hi, Tony:
I built my K2, SN 1289, in 1980 and have thoroughly enjoyed it ever since. I
was first licensed in 1952 and have always had an HF transmitter I built
myself, either from a kit or scratch. I was about to give up and go after my

Anyone care to sell their KPA 100 plus KAT 100 in an EC2 enclosure?
Otherwise would think about the KPA 100 top cover and separate KAT100 ATU.
