Hi there, I'm wondering if I could find someone that's currently using

the integration
I have looked into using the K3 DVK with N1MM. It works, but I find
that for me using wav files with N1MM is better.
The main reason is that I can manipulate the wav files in a program such as
Audacity to get rid of unwanted pauses etc.

Hello,
I am also just testing PSK on K3 with Microham keyer using Data A mode and get
different results.. Fist think is if you proper adjust level from sound card
that ALC meter show 4 bars and 5 flickering on 1500Hz means that every time
when you change listen channel needs to re-adjust Mic

Hi,
please remember that this weekend is the Region 1 SSB Field Day from
Saturday 13.00 UTC to Sunday 12.59 UTC.
We are looking forward to working you!

I notice that there is a slight power output variation between the two FSK
tones (as seen on an external meter, there isn't enough resolution on the
K3's meter to see it). Is this a result of filter ripple or is something
else
at work here? (since not AFSK not EQ or sound card settings).

Jim,
I'm using a Quatech http://www.quatech.com/catalog/rs232_usb.php USB-Serial
adapter to load firmware on my K3 and to connect to my logging program
otherwise.
I have no issues with it. I spent several hours yesterday loading and
reloading firmware trying to sort out the RF gain control
I do have an issue with the Elecraft Utility though. After running and
closing it, the serial port is not released.
Interesting.
In my operating position, I use a RigExpert Plus between the K3 and the
computer. This device includes a USB - RS232 converter. After
running Utility, I
I'll look into this. My intent us to Close the serial port in all exit
paths. But Close calls driver-specific routines. Is this a general
problem with all USB to Serial adapter users? Are your device drivers
up to date? How do you generally close the K3 utility? I'll put a
debug breakpoint
Dick,
This is a common problem with applications accessing serial ports. It is
very driver dependent.

It's always been possible to have a problem of this sort, even using
the Elecraft supplied usb/serial adapter, and with the latest drivers,
using any of my various PC's as a host.
If I try to close the utility AFTER I have turned off the K3 power, I
can count on some kind of funky business about
Not only the PC. When running higher power (not sure the limit), I get
intermittent telnet drops on DSL when I'm on 80 and 160 (saw this reported by
others on various reflectors). When I'm downloading SW, even though I'm in the
shack, I don't key?any transmitters. Have a bunch of ferrites
Hello,
I'd like to plug the Tennessee QSO Party which will be running from 1800z
Sunday, September 6 until 0300z Monday, September 7, 2009.
We anticipate all 95 counties to be active and plenty of mobile activity. At
least one of the mobiles will try RTTY. Several others will also be on RTTY
Hi,
I've had several requests to update status on our price changes. The
date will be in a week and a half - 9/15 or 9/16.
(Lisa was out this week. We need to meet and confirm the change amounts,
modify the web pages, order forms, accounting system etc.)
Please don't email or call the factory
What I have I changed? I can only hear my external speakers when sub is
activated. Config settings: speakers=2; phone +speakers = yes. Plugged into
rear spkr jack. With plug removed internal speakers work as expected.

Hi all.
With the K1, is it better or equal to have the internal tuner built and
installed internally in the K1 or is there a performance factor (better?) to
use the external T1 tuner?
Thought I would ask and get something ordered before the price changes.
tnx

Brian-
The internal tuner is good and the external tuner is better and can be
used with other QRP rigs. Also, if you want to change filter boards
frequently, the internal tuner has to be removed to change the filter
boards. This doubles the work.

The K1 I had advertised for sale yesterday has been sold but the KX1 is
still available.
This basic KX1 has just recently been built so it is in like-new condition
and covers 20M and 40M.
Comes with the manual and will ship and insure to your QTH for $315 CONUS.
I was wondering this myself. The T1 would go well with the K1. The whole
package is bigger - but not by a lot!
The T1 appears to have 3 more Ls and 3 more Cs so can probably match a wider
range of bits of wire. I think I would go for that unless there was a very
good reason not to.

Correct.

I have an internal K1 tuner and a T1 tuner. The T1 has a much larger
impedance range and will match stranger loads than the KAT1.
The big advantage of the KAT1 is that it is an internal pcb that is always
there and it also will remember settings for each band on the same antenna
so you can

Thanks Lyle - I just found a work around:
LIN OUT = NOR, SUB RX ON -AND- LOCKED to the MAIN = same audio and
fixed level in both channels.
Have to remember to unlock VFOs when operating digi modes split.

I have an LP Pan (for the K3) and a Infrasonic Quartet 192 kHz
card for sale. Both are in as new condition. The LP Pan is serial

Please contact me at off list.

Hi Folks,
I have a K3 on it's way form Aptos that will arrive Tuesday, Sept 8th.would
have here today except for a minor hiccup. But, not complainingjust a
lesson in patience. I've been worrying over the assembly and operating manual
the last few days. I like to contest using FSK
There are a couple of choices. I chose to use a 15-pin Y connector and
plug a microHAM cable on one side of the Y and a Top Ten Devices Band
Decoder on the other. Another choice is a little breakout board with
connectors for leads. And of course you can make up your own cable.
All of these
K3 still at top. 7600 rated #15 for dynamic range. Even an old TS-830 tops
it!

Of course, with its wide roofing filter the close-in dynamic range is
much worse and it doesn't have microprocessor

Can this approach be used with the K2 in digital modes and if so what are
