Hi,
I've a question about L9, in the manual it states that its a Micro
Size. I only seem to have a Mini size L9, and it looks a bit on the
large side.
I checked the latest manual and it still says Micro in the Manual.
Thoughts?

John,
Use the inductor supplied - mount it at an angle or fold the leads under
the body.
All the inductors in the KX1 are the mini size now - they are not as
prone to damage when bending the leads, even so, form the leads with
care - use fingers rather than a tool.
See the errata sheet.

GOtta agree with Ron re: mangled code. Code sent with a bug, straight key, or
sideswiper is a bit like handwriting. Some people have very sloppy handwriting,
or in this case, send sloppily. I think these things really add character and
make the whole thing a lot less sterile. Heck, if I wanna
Do you have your Quick Memories set up? For me they are at least as useful

Not really, as they only go back to the last saved location, therefore
requiring a save if one wants to go back to the last mode frequency.
It would be nice

also do the +2 and SPLIT on. And free up PF#

If you use DXLab's Commander rig control program, it has buttons to do quick

Another technique is to set VFO B on the DX station and tune the pileup with

It sounds like everyone is saying sending sloppy code is desirable. How
odd; I always thought hams took pride in their sending. Well formed,
well spaced characters are much easier to copy. I find nothing quaint

Hi Ken,
I think it's safe to say no one likes sloppy code, and the comments were
saying only that less than perfect code is pleasing to the ear. But
less than perfect doesn't mean sloppy. The tiny imperfections add a
human quality to an otherwise somewhat stark method of communication.
That might work for me.

I am not saying that sloppy code is desirable. There's a huge difference
between sloppy and hand vs. machine code, just as there is between someone
who mumbles badly and someone who speaks normally, albeit perhaps with a
regional accent. I also agree with your frustration over too-fast dits.
This sounds like a problem I had when building my KPA - improperly inserted
ribbon cables. It is very easy to insert some of the connectors offset by
one pin or even an entire row of pins. Check all ribbon cable connections
very carefully.

I don't believe anyone said sending sloppy code is desirable, only that it's

Yes, I believe the KEYOUT-LP is active even though TX INH is asserted.
To test your sequencer, I strongly recommend using TX TEST - no RF is
transmitted, but all controls will occur normally allowing you to test
the sequencer timings in detail.
