It is interesting to see a whole new type of remote control of K3 (and other

Add a 3rd to your list. Ultimatic is the only way I can use dual lever

Phil,
I do not recall those transceivers having an IF Output.
If the KWM2 or 75S-1 is modified to provide an IF output, then the
answer is yes the P3 will provide a panadapter function centered around
the IF. The P3 will not display the operating frequency because that
information is not

I don't think so either, but I'm thinking it should be easy to tap off
the 455 khz signal path and bring it out to a BNC or RCA connector.

Alan,
It's easy to activate the voice memories simply by sending a macro to tap
the appropriate button. It's a bit more complicated to measure the length
of the message, if you want to set up an auto-repeat function, but that can
also be done. I do that in my program, CQPWIN, and also
The problem is that I use a specific program for the 10-10 contest (Win1010)
which does not support this function. This program has a database of 10-10
numbers and associated info as well as scores the contest. Therefore, I need
another way to access the K3 DVR.

Ultimatic is a lifesaver!
When I moved from my W9TO keyer with a single paddle to a modern keyer with
dual paddles I could hardly send CW. What a shock that was!

There is an interesting article on designing a QRSS grabber. An mbed

I, too, recall this being broken some time back. And I also seem to remember

Most laptops don't have a stereo input, only mono mic input, so they are

Although older and some lowest cost laptops may not have stereo input, I

stereo mike inputs as part of their speakerphone capability.

I think you'll find that stereo line ins on laptops are VERY much NOT

That said, if you can live with 48kHz sampling, I've had very good luck

Again, do a simple test to see if your laptop has a stereo line in before

An LP-Pan or SoftRock will NOT be required to make use of the I/Q output of
the KX3. It is designed to drive a stereo soundcard input directly.

For basic field use with the KX3, there is an SDR app for iPhone / iPad

One trick people used to use was to wrap a wire around the mixer tube.
That picks up enough signal for the panadapter without having to tap
into the circuitry , which would likely require an IF re-alignment.

drive the Heath Q-multiplier by wrapping a couple of turns of insulated

It would be wise IMHO, for those using CW in SSB (or any other VHF/UHF
