That is it! Thanks much. I am also going to use it for some rx antennas. On Mon, Sep 26, 2022 at 6:42 PM Walter Underwood wrote: > Probably one of the sizes of “Toughcoat Silky” from The Wireman and other > suppliers. This is the 26 AWG wire. I use this for my non-resonant SOTA > antennas. >

Probably one of the sizes of “Toughcoat Silky” from The Wireman and other suppliers. This is the 26 AWG wire. I use this for my non-resonant SOTA antennas. https://thewireman.com/product/antenna-wire-26-awg-copper-clad-steel-stranded-jacketed/

Ha!  I did the same thing last night only with slightly parameters: 0.2 inch diameter 4 ft. rod (average diameter of AX1?) with the base 5 ft above average ground.  Counterpoise (#18 wire) drops 4 ft from the feed point then trails out 9 ft to about 2 inches above ground. The base loading

I do a similar evaluation of antenna combinations (random wire with/without 9:1) but instead of using different call signs, I move one khz away and record results that way with RBN. On Sun, Sep 25, 2022 at 5:19 PM Jim Brown wrote: > On 9/25/2022 1:43 PM, Bill Mader wrote: > > Putting the

Folks: I think there was a little note in the KX2 bundle about the type of wire that is used in the counterpoise wires shipped with the KX2. However, I am unable to locate it. I think it had "slick" in its name. Thanks, -- --w8lvn--

I modeled something similar to an AX1 with EZNEC last night.  I used a base loaded 4' length of 1/2 inch diameter tubing for the whip, a roughly 10 uH coil with a Q of 200 (25 turns, 1.5" diameter, 3" length), and a 13 foot #14 counterpoise wire.  It was oriented vertically with the bottom

I moved 400 miles north from FL to NC this past weekend and I'm now in a condo. I'm curious if anyone has used the AX-1 in an apartment (upstairs) setting? How did you deploy the conterpoise? How does it work compared to an outdoor deployment? I will be using it with my IC-705 and the MAT-705

Do you think you would get the same results on receive as you would on transmit? I have found in my playing around that yes and 10 is likely a X one or a X to work best if the counterpoise is also hanging vertically below it, but I have never ever ever been in a situation where the antenna

I have used my AX2 both ways, and I have never found it to be advantageous to use that antenna without a counterpoise. Gerry Leary Wb6ivf On Sep 25, 2022, at 1:31 PM, Julia Tuttle wrote: Hi Dave, I think that's a proper comparison in a physics sense, but I don't think it fully represents
