I agree on the absolute fantastic gain of using a P3..
even if you don't have one!!
I have LP-PAN and PSDR-IF for my K3... (so its my P3 with SVGA) and like
previous List commenters I fell
in love with the ability to scan the band for activity and see sigs I might
pounce on given
strength etc.
Just as a point of interest, while I have used HRD in the past, I mostly use
PSDR-IF with my K3 alongside LP-PAN.
But same thing applies to PSDR, NaP3 I expect and HRD.
I use a Logitech Evolution MX mouse, which has programmable buttons, but
moreover has an accelerating free spinning mouse
Not to lessen the content of QST to ARRL members... but I have info from the
author of the article re. slowing down bugs for 5 bucks.
Go to Canadian Tire and buy a pair for about $5. These square gauges or
staircase gauges are manufactured by Johnson (nope, not EF Johnson). You will

Maybe I am WAY late for 'this party' but I recently have found I quite enjoy
the PITCH audio FX on the KX3.
Has it ever been proposed to include this PITCH option as an AFX on the K3?
I've been using DELAY (simulated stereo) on the K3 since, like, forever...but
the PITCH afx on the KX3 I have
With all the talk of trying to get KX3 working with NaP3... I have to ask. What
about using IF-PSDR?
I use IF-PSDR on my K3 with LP-Pan/Bridge and like it.I tried NaP3 last winter
(when I was active before good weather) and I found I did not like it. That's
me, I guess.
Anyone know why the
While I don't YET have SDR running on my KX3,I have been running SDR software
on my K3 and my Flex 3000 for some time now.
At one time I worked in an office dealing with workplace injuries, and part of
that was injury claims stemming fromergonomic issues in workplace computer
use.We had a lot
You lucky people.. I am now going leave the Yahoo KX3 list and use the Elecraft
list for all KX3 postings, the way it should be.
Forever and amen... :)
Anyhow...
Last weekend was the first time I really had some time to hook up my KX3 and
work some stuff.
Bands seemed great, and I worked
While I agree that the Delta 44 sound card does seem to be de facto choice,
there are a few, some current and some not,
also described on the LP PAN web page as possible choices.
I ended up using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI card for my K3 into IF PSDR and
LP PAN.
The previous box, which
I realize we are all still waiting for the KX3... somewhat patiently. In advance
of that.. I know there has been some discussion already on soundcards to make
use of the I/Q output.
But... I did want to raise the ugly spectre of the 'laptop' computer.I solved
my soundcard issue on
My apologies for a bit of divergence.
This concerns implementation of LP PAN and LP Bridge with PSDR for the K3.
Old hat perhaps, now that the P3 product exists.
In my case, living in Canada, I was not really willing to consider a P3 at this
time, with respect, as an Elecraft product.
We have
I would like as well to express my condolences at Tom's passing, and to
posthumously
thank him again for all he had done for us since 1998. I know he knew he was a
valued person.
Men like him make this hobby so much more than a passtime. They make it a
pleasure.
We will all miss him.

Following on the magnifier thread.
I settled for a cheap-o head magnifier sometime back when I had some sudden
need. It was OK, but I still wanted better.
I just did some searches for the Donegan Optical Optivisor (mentioned in the
recent threads) and found their web site has a dealer
On the weekend, I picked up a nice K2 set - a K2 with internal tuner and
battery, plus the remoting of the
KAT100 and KPA100 built into an EC2 enclosure.
All set up for QRP in field/portabl/patio or full 100 watts in the shack.
But an odd thing... this all came from a very reliable ham (a
Hi.
I installed a K3XVA board into the K3 in order to get IF output for an LP PAN
and PSDR.
I was not seeing signals on PSDR, nor any input levels on the sound card
inputs, so began to question if I actually HAD output from the K3XV.
It was recommended to me that I feed the IF output into
I seem to have come late to the party on some things and been missing some
joy :)
Last Friday I bought a USB-Serial adapter so I could get ready for the
installation of the LP PAN outfit I will be getting going (after I open up and
get the KXV3A installed).
Anyhow, I thought I would first
Hi all.
With the K1, is it better or equal to have the internal tuner built and
installed internally in the K1 or is there a performance factor (better?) to
use the external T1 tuner?
Thought I would ask and get something ordered before the price changes.
tnx

I have noticed what I think is small but inexplicable change in my K3 shift.
Up until a few weeks ago (when I had some other odd issue with the sidetone
going to zero hz, thus the crystal filter not seeming to work...)
my shift centre frequency was 60.
That is, that is where I think the
On the weekend I once again thought about trying out PSK31... its been ages
(last time was pretty close to when it 'came out' and the Steven Ford - I
think- article was in QST). I did have fun with it... and was very interested
in how well it worked for such low power (that was out of my K2 I
Interested in buying a used K1.
Preferably 4 bands, but will consider 2 band (my tired eyes is that close,
middle or far distance? preclude me from really wanting to build the whole
rig.. but I guess I can do a band module...).
I've paid my dues building K2s, a K1, NorCal stuff, Small Wonders
Thanks to all for the reference to p.25 of the KAT100 manual on this
subject.
Chastised myself - chalk it up to reading the pdf file on slow computer :)
and the page scrolling by me in a chunky way I guess.

OK. Honestly I have searched the mail list archives and manuals...and cannot
find the answer
I have a K2 with 100 w PA (so that serves in place of K102 i/w aux bus), and
the KAT100 tuner. A cable runs from the K2 aux DB9 to the tuner.
Now, I want to run a cable from my computer to allow
Simply put. For thhose of us getting a K3 with a 100 watt option.
What power supply to get? Let's not beat about the bush.. suitable p/s with
the amperage required.
I see a lot of reviews etc. and negatives on some etc. I just want a good
supply, no hum, no trouble, no issues.
I will say
Well, I just gotta ask.
It really seems a lot of the CQs I hear are CQ FISTS and CQ SKCC.
Are these persons bothered if I reply and just want a QSO/rag chew/contact
and don't need their number and won't send one in return - or don't favour a
hand key?
I just don't see the sense in sending
Hi. Sort of checking out the ability to send to the List pending K3 traffic
when the rigs get out.
Did want to say - the pending issueance of the K3 has seen me assiduously
working on my CW to make the K3 a deserved rig when I can catch one on the
future runs. I've been pretty much off the
