Dear All,
My K3 is prompting now with ERR DSE, during CQ WPX RTTY it was ok, next
switch on this week end it prompts this error.

Hello Christian, all,
According to the schematics, the encoder is directly connected to the MCU pins.
I would assume, there is a connector issue in between?
Can you check both lines between encoder and MCU, if possible?

Hi Steef, all,
well, intermittend or gone issues are hard to detect :-(
Based on your description, it is most likely that contact issues causes the
symptoms described.
Or maybe a cold solder joint could cause such issues too.
I am saying that with care and respect, my K3/10 is #5921 and 10y
hown when in TUNE mode. My memories

Hello,
I am using a splitter in the external RX path as shown on my QRZ page.
So the Splitter and the SDR are protected from high Power load.
Hope that helps

Hello,

Hello Readers,
i need to understand which point in the signal path i have to control/measure
to investigate further damages in my K3 after water damage event.
yes, VOX is on.
When i have the place where the issue starts, i want to understand what is
causing that behavior.
Currently receiver is
Dear Readers,
i made a water damage of my K3. Meanwhile Receiver is working again, after some
repairs.
But there is still no RF output.
Main symptom is, that in case of TX (key down in CW) i find at J7 (8.215 MHz
TXIF1) a 8.230MHz signal, but no signal passing the filter, expected
Hello Peter, All,
I am using SDRPlayIntf.dll (see CW Skimmer page) with CW Skimmer and K3.
The external preamplifier option is used to get antenna signal during receive
to a splitter and than back to K3 and to the SDRPlay.
This does not give me a band scope, but a band map filled with stations
Hello Richard, All,
i am using SDRPlay with may K3 at IF-Out multiple times for a
self-skimmer-setup during contests.
Check my qrz-page https://qrz.com/db/DD0VS.
SDR software used is SDR Console V3, since this has a skimmer interface.
There is a second option, with KXV3 option, i looped in a
Hello All,
unless otherwise expected, there is no AGC in the signal path of K144VX.
Therefore the dbm setting is not so accurate on output power as expected.
Furthermore, since there are 2 bandpasses in sequence (28MHz and 144MHz) the
ripple of those bandpasses creates frequency dependend output

Hello Graham, dear YLs and OMs,
There is adjustment resistor inside the internal Transverter. Here only you
will be able to maintain right power setting. I did this one time for all my
transverters. Max power is for me 2,5W. With power (pwr) knob, I can maintain 1
to 2.5 W.
Hope this helps

GM,
I had the same question a month before (in another forum).
Output depends on gain adjustment with R87, see k3 schematic. Which seems to be
set to full gain from factory side.
If so, the 1mW overdrives the transverter, so you should see full 10W on ant 3
only.
I used the Elecraft Dummy load
Dear OMs,
I want to know what to do to program a k3 for usage on 47GHz.
How to overcome the limit of 24999MHz as stated in the manual?
