Phil,
I use the KDSP2 and generally like it very much. I set one of the DSP CW
filter settings to 50Hz bandwidth and increase the filter gain. Seems to help
for pulling weak ones out of the band noise under some conditions. I don't find
the sound of signals processed through the DSP filters a
this weekend, and let you all know how it worked
out.

This may have been covered before, but I seem to recall that there was no firm
resolution? I never reaaly worried about it for the past few years, but with
the solar cycle waxing, I might miss some DX!
Thanks all for any insight.

When you consider that the K2's
buttons have two and sometimes three different
functions already (there's a clock in there? Really?)
I
created neat
products to enhance the Elecraft kits!

Any chance we might see an implementation of APF for the audio-based DSP of
the K2? I realize it might require swapping out U3 to implement the change. I
would even give up some of the other functionality if adequate memory resources
don't exist to implement an additional function.

My little K2 performed very well in the contest too! Don't let the K3 guys
think they have the only rig capable of feats of magic...the K2 filters and
sturdy front end allowed me to pull out some really weak DX sigs on 80 and 40
right next to full S-meter stateside signals, with no problem! I
And grayline prop Saturday and Sunday, 30 and 40 meters was great too...
Worked S58N, Mike on 30M CW and 40 SSB (first call!) both on my lil K2...
Gotta love it!

John,
That sounds like the AGC isn't functioning. I had a
similar problem on #5471 a couple of months after
completion. I didn't notice the current draw, so I
don't know if that is some other problem.
The symptoms were no S meter action, no matter how
strong the signal, and of course, the volume
Don,
I just read your reply to Gregg. I am just starting to
build a KPA100, purchased May 2006. I read your
answer, and ordered the KPA100UPKT upgrade. My
question concerns your reference to C31 needing to be
.22 uF...My manual (Rev C) and the Rev E manual both
show it as .033 Uf, I believe. Did I
Thanks all, for the clarifications. I just started the
build, so I am not so far into it I have to remove any
components. I have printed the latest revision manual
and errata and will carry on using it.
Thanks again!

K2 #5471
K2 #5471 was completed without incident on Sunday, May
27th. First QSO was at 8:30PM PDST...I tried to get
done before the 40 meter ECN, but just missed.
I started the project in May of '06, but due to work
obligations, had to postpone operations on the RF
board ...I finally told myself I was
