I guess you could record audio of your call sent in cw over the mic and do
it that way.

but check out the Config menu
under CW Wght
it says:
Tap 4 to select VOX NOR (default) or AUTO OFF. The AUTO OFF setting
turns CW VOX off on power-up, avoiding accidental keying by attached PCs,
etc.
