I don't mean to re-hash the same subject either, but I guess I missed the end
of this discussion also.
Regarding the vertical tube that comes from the stand to the mic, can someone
tell me if the threads on the bottom section are supposed to screw all of the
way into the base? Mine goes in
Mike and all,
Thanks for the heads up, Mike. I'm wondering if anyone has ordered and
received the Circuit Specialists soldering stations which looked like Hakko
936's ? If so could they give us a similar report on that unit?
At $35.00 it is indeed a tempting buy, but with Mike's post...?
Wait a minute -- the bands AREN'T dead??? -- oh,oh, better chck to see if the

Yep - a nice build. The cost (including a pre-punched case) ran me about $150,
dunno if that is a lot for 35 watts, but I needed a bit more punch, especially
on psk31.

Hi,
My K2 has been working fine but I decided to fix it anyway...hi.
Well actually I was a little short on the power output on 10 meters. I was
getting about 7 watts out on 10 meters and Gary Suggested that I replace T2 and
T1. Instead of winding them myself, I contacted 'The Toroid Guy'
Also - I have been having trouble getting 10 Watts on 10 meters so I asked Gary
about it (he's the Elecraft repair guru). He said the same thing about
interleaving T4 but he also said to make sure T2 is wound correctly, and while
I was at it to check T1. When I popped the lid, I wasn't at all
I've been trying my hand at SSTV with my K2 and so far haven't been too
successful. I'm using the MMSSTV software and haven't been able to receive a

I've been using the headphone jack connected to my computer's sound card but
I'm only getting a bunch of 'snow' on the screen. Is
I had the occassion to take apart the hand held mic that Elecraft carries
(MH-2?) and was really shocked at what I found inside.
Now as a mostly CW guy I really don't have a good appreciation of sound
quality, but I'm finding this thread very interesting.
