I have a second K-2 with the Z1 buffer installed and intended for use with a panadaptor. (I hope this is the correct term. LP-PAN?) I have never used this particular option, but am familiar with the scope in the IC 756 PRO 111 which is superb. I wonder if the panadaptor Elecraft is

Ron, Yes, LP-PAN is available with an input frequency to match the K2, see http://www.telepostinc.com/LP-PAN.html I don't know about the adaptability of the P3 - we will have to wait until after the weekend to get any more details on the P3. You are the first to mention K2 compatibility.
