It may be that it is not locked, but that the VFO encoder is not working
because the encoder board is contacting something on the back of the
Control Board.
Remove the top cover, then remove the 2 screws fastening the Control
Board to the Front Panel. Tilt the top of the Control

Does a tap on the Rate button change the tuning rate, e.g do the two digits
right of the decimal point on the display disappear and reappear with
successive taps to Rate? If the tap on the button doesn't change the
display, it would be a mechanical or electrical issue with the button
I was running PSK on my K2 and my cat got up on my desk and started moving
the VFO knob off frequency. So I decided to put on Lock and pushed the
button until it told me that it was locked, everything was normal. Then I
tried to unlock it and it would not work. I turned it off and restarted it
and

I built up and installed the 160m module. Powered on the K2 and it locked up.
No error messages on power on but no buttons will have any effect. VFO works
but that's all.
Removed 160m and began troubleshooting. The only observable issue: Resistance
between pin 1 and pin 10 on the 160m

Your other choice is to find out what is causing the 'lock up'. It is
quite likely that it has nothing to do with the K160XV installation, but
is related to something you inadvertently touched or bumped during the
install process.
Take a more thorough look at what works and what does
