For CW mode: The mon level is the default. It simply controls the sidetone volume and can be adjusted while sending (no steady tone). Good idea. I've also become accustomed to CW side-tone that tracks with the AF volume control. In doing so, the MON control still sets the side-tone to Rx

Add me to the list of those wanting plenty of sidetone volume. I just ordered my K3 so I don't know how low it is but I am hearing impaired so it's important that there is good volume for me. I take my hearing aids off when using headphones and I turn the volume up to compensate. Bob G3YIQ
