Wayne, Pardon me if I missed where the details were posted, but I'd like more info on the 50' off-center-fed wire antenna you mention. I'm assuming you mean 50' long, but are you using the traditional 1/3 - 2/3 feedpoint or one of the other offsets that some authors mention? This sounds like

I was playing with NECwin+ and found an interesting antenna. Later I found it had already been invented but it was fascinating to see how the numbers worked. It was an off center fed doublet with the feed point at the 3/8 - 5/8 point. It worked well without a tuner for almost all bands.
