The I/Q output is not for listening. That would provide odd audio.
Use the Phones plug to drive powered speakers.

I think what he is trying to do is use iSDR on the iPad to hear the signals he
is touching. The I/Q goes to the line in and the headphones go to the out on
the iMic. What he needs to do is set the iMic to mic not line to make the
signal the iPad sees stronger and adjust iSDR gain settings in
