You'll need to enable the USB interface in the menu (RS232). Elecraft probably
should have made USB the default on the K3S.

Earl,
If you have only one software application (a logger for instance), then
you can connect it to the COM port formed by the K3S USB connection.
Your SignaLink does not use a COM port, it is basically a USB
soundcard. If you have run out of USB ports, you can use a USB hub
(best if it is a
LP-Bridge. But you don't need the Signalink.

Hello fellow Hams,
I'm new to the list and was referred by many from the Yahoo K3 group. Thank you.
I have been wanting a new radio for a while now and the K3 is at the top of my
list. My current radio, a 706 MkIIG, has performed well for the last 11 years
but my interest in weak signal 6 and 2

I don't think I'll be getting a kit anytime soon since, as a totally blind ham,

Stephen,
Go for it, you'll really enjoy assembling a K2. Suggest you start with a
basic K2 plus the K2SB SSB board and a K2AT antenna tuner.
Use a good power supply. I use an Elpac 6 amp model that I picked up at
a Hamfest for $10.00
Good luck and keep the list informed as to your progress.

Hi Stephen,
I think you'll do just fine. The K2 is an excellent transceiver and
the build is straight forward and most enjoyable. Just follow the
manual and you'll be fine.
No test equipment is required to build the K2 other than a dmm and a
dummy load. You do need to take esd precautions but
