A couple of people have posed a question to me off the reflector that speaks to a point I think is important: when checking to see if the volume changes when switching the AGC on and off, do it with *no antenna*! Best, a 50 ohm dummy load connected! Background QRN, even up on 10 meters, can easil

Roy, You must have misread something (or did a typo). The stock value for Control Board R1 on the older boards is 51k. A 50k pot will do the task for you, or a 20k pot in series with a 33k resistor. I typically find that a 39k, 36k or 33k resistor will set the proper level, but I have also fou

Paul, You are correct, there is no well defined procedure, and part of the real procedure depends on 1)whether you set the pre-amp on or off, 2) the band that you use to optimize the AGC, and 3) the sensation in your ears as you listen to the result - An AGC Threshold setting that is higher than n

Hello All: What is the proper way to set AGC in the K2? The manual suggests adjusting R1 for 3.80V at U2-5 as a starting point, but then gives no other information. TNX, Paul N8NOV Houston ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You
