I have owned both and if you have a K3 and want the best use the P3/SVGA better integration and do not have to use your computer. There can be software glitches and I had problems with mine keeping it running all the time due to them. I personally would never downgrade to LP-Pan from my P3-SVGA

Hans, You can operate the K3 in TEST mode which will output up to 1.5mw to drive a transverter. TEST mode uses the transverter interface connections. It will not provide dial reading in 470-KHz so you will see 10.470 displayed. A transverter band for 630m with a 10.470 IF would be nice
