connector to the control board.
If it sags down, this will cause that kind of hash because it is too
close to the receiver circuitry.
Keep this cable as close to the topcover as you can.

I've had my new K3 up and running for about a week after replacing the DSP
board during assembly due to the 5vdc rail being shorted to ground. The
S-meter shows about S-2/3 noise and there is about an equal level of noise from
the speaker. I have an IC-756ProIII sitting beside it

What is the URL for the RFI reflector please? I need to belong! If one
makes a mistake and gets something that generates radio noise it can
take hours and hours to try and cure the problem. Some of the problems
are nearly impossible to cure as the basic design makes it prohibitive.
