Had the same problem in October 2010: RF gain tracking error between main and

Lyle then sent me a beta K3 Utility which performs the RF gain calibration
at 2 different power levels (-73 dBm and -33 dBm). Of course you need an RF
source capable of providing these power levels. This solved

Andrew,
Check to see if you have 1.22 volts at the cathode of U1. If not,
replace U1.
Other than that, check the soldering (re-flow if in doubt) - there are
just not that many components to give trouble.

Andrew,
One more suggestion - check if either D1 or D2 (near the output socket) are
shorted. (Tony KT0NY had somewhat similar problem recently and in his case
D2 was shorted, besides of other reasons.)

Sounds like you have set up well for ESD work. Winter low humidity

It is possible that there is a problem in the RF gain pot. It IS a

Now when I press ATU

to turn it the gain reduces smoothly all the way. I believe it could be in

Chris,
First simplify your setup by eliminating the antenna from the equation.
If you have an in-line wattmeter, connect it between the K3 and the
dummy load.
Do an ATU TUNE - make sure you have the correct ANT selected.
