Hello Jim, What antenna is shown on the KX3 photo. It is mounted on a 90 degree BNC adaptor. Careful if you mount the whip antenna directly at the KX3 (or other transceivers). The force that the 1.4 m long antenna exerts on the BNC socket of the transceiver is not negligible, especially if

Based on this QST 2007 review, it was a noisy switching supply at one time. I understand the manufacturer made a capacitor type change, circa 10/2008, but personally I would like to see a QST retest of this supply (or similar spectrum analyzer plots) before purchasing this supply.

Hi Roger, I doubt this has anything to do with the firmware version. My first guess would be a problem with the RS-232 connection between the K3 and P3, but the fact that the center frequency readout is correct implies that the RS-232 must be working. It could still be intermittent I suppose.

I put together my KPA500 this afternoon/evening. It went together fine with no issues, except a couple of problems I caused. Over torqued one of the accessory jack nuts and broke it, but luckily, I had a spare. I also almost dinged the transformer by forgetting to remove the side panel.
