Hi agn,
I’m looking for an unbuilt K60XV kit for my K2. I had one reply but no further
contact.

I have my K3s S/N 10972 and Panadapter P3 for sale because I want to buy
the Elecraft K4. Recently in september 2019 has been calibrated and updated at
the factory by Elecraft Tech Service (Doug). Non smoking environment.
This K3s is fully loaded (except no 2M) and contains the following:
I should add that you should drive the K2 audio sufficiently, then
adjust the power knob for the desired power output.
Attempting to use the audio level to adjust the power output will result
in "Power Hunting" and could be the cause of some of your problems.
The proper audio level for the K2
How old is this K2? Those K2s with Serial Numbers below 2560 have the
original IF crystals. You will achieve a flatter passband if the
crystals on the KSB2 board (and the RF Board) are replaced with the
upgrades crystals.
If your KSB2 card is older, check the resistors on that board against
I recently purchased a used K3 and decided to upgrade it. I now have a few
spare parts I would like to sell.
2x - KSYN3 synthesizer module
1x - KIO3A (3 board set) I/O interface
1x - KXV3A Transverter Interface
2x - KFL3A-1.8, 1.8 kHz Roofing Filter
2x - KFL3A-500, 500 Hz CW/DATA Roofing
Victor's point is a good one. Thus the question are you working full
QSK or semi-QSK? If the TX Delay is long, default is about 8 ms as I
recall, it will put in the required space for the correct timing to key
an external amplifier. This can occur between every CW element in QSK
mode.
Make sure you have no equalizing in the audio output somewhere (that is
important for any transceiver, btw). Also check the SSBA and SSBC
options in the menu, maybe the selected compression ratio is not ideal
for FT8. See KSB2 manual regarding "PowerControl and ALC".
You could test this with
Do you have CONFIG:TX DELAY set higher than 8 or 10?

It turns out this did not solve my problem after all.

Sounds as though the paddle contacts need cleaning as well as the connector on
the rear.

Glad to share what I've learned. Thank you.

There were known changes in the version up to resolve a bug in a previous
version.
If the WSJT Tune frequency is 1500 Hz, there is a beating between 1500 and the
refresh rate of the ALC displayed value. Simply move the TX audio frequency up
or down to eliminate this. Makes for MUCH easier
Hola Bob and Jim,
I checked all settings, I had not clicked on "Tune".
Computer sound settings were all good. Mic and spkr USB both on Audio codex.
Changed from Vox to CAT as per Bob's advice.
Still nothing until I changed the 'power slider' in WSJT-x to 100% vs
50. Then got 8 barschanged to

95W or less and I have run the K3 utility at re-calibrate the transmitter at
5W and 50W. What else should I do?
thanks

I have started to use my K2 for FT8, with the KIO2 digital interface and
the SSB-module. My sound card is connected to the hear phone and
microfon connections. Software WSJT-X, JTAlert and DXLab commander.
On 80m and 40m all is ok, but not on the higher bands. For example on 20
m, the power
