Refer to the instruction sheet for the KXPD2:
https://ftp.elecraft.com/KX2/Manuals%20Downloads/E740295%20KXPD2%20Paddle%20Instructions%20Rev%20C.pdf
This states that the thumb screws are 4-40 half-inch long.
I regret greatly my purchase of the KXPD2 in 2017. It is the worst iambic key
Hi Al,The screws are 4X40 1/2 " length. Elecraft # is E700245.. I highly
recommend using these because of the printed circuit board behind the case and
impossible to see. You might try the British Elecraft distributer.Oh, the KXPD3
uses the same screw..73,Jim HK7sss In a message dated

Al,
The screw size is 6-32 (not metric).
But do contact Elecraft to obtain the proper screws. If the screws
project too far inside the KX3 enclosure, the PC board will be damaged.
I do know it can take a while to get items 'across the pond', but for
the health of your KX3, get the proper

I can't help you with the screw size, but I recommend contacting
Elecraft on this. The point on one of the screws is ground down to
eliminate some type of physical interference in the KX3. It would be
wise to use the screws that come with the paddle.

Hello,
I’ve been offered a secondhand KXPD2 key for my KX3 but it’s missing the screws
to attach it to the radio’s case. I’m loath to experiment with random fasteners
so could someone please inform me what size the retaining screws are?
Thank you,
Al G4VSQ

Thanks to all who offered suggestions. Let me touch on some:
* CONFIG:PWR SET is PEr bAnd - Was and is.
* Reload firmware - Done; no change.
* TX GAIN CAL on the K3 - Not yet; will look into this.
* Plug/replug cables - On the to-do list.
* Other software sending commands - The problem has

This question has come up several times over the years, and I have always
followed the threads closely, since I have occasionally had the same issue.
The consensus seems to indeed involve a communication issue: the KPA500 sends a
signal to the K3 when its operational status changes, but for
HOWEVER, on 15M (21.074), 17M and 12M - with this setup, I get NO
decodes, and on the P3, I see the passband in the CENTER of the
display, and the signals are all to the right of the passband.
Check your data sub-mode (DATA MD) *one each band*. The sub-mode
is stored *per band* and it
What's the general time it's taking Elecraft support to reply to e-mail

Obviously, this has been a crap year, and normal expectations don't apply.

I'm certain I'm doing something stupid, clearly I don't understand the
SSB/data shifting going on; but, I can't seem to figure this out.
I'm running a K3 with a SignaLink USB connected to the rear-panel and WJSTX,
primarily for FT8 (although see below). WSJTX is set for "Ham Radio
Deluxe"
Thanks for the good explanation Dick. It got by me that the bins are storing
the ant port# along with the tuner settings. That should work well having 2
antennas on every band if needed. Adding a 3rd might be cumbersome but more
then I need for now anyway... I'll think about that later.
