Stan,
If you position the PX3 to the left of the KX3, the two units can be
positioned within 0.5 of each other when using all right-angle plugs,
which makes the combined chassis width 13.5.
We make a #33-100 KX3 PX3 DC Power Splitter which helps facilitate
neat cable management for users

Hi All,
I read the report with interest, and thank those involved for reporting
what they observed. I will share some observations on my website, I
believe it is not a good use of list bandwidth to have two manufacturers
discussing each others wares on an Elecraft list.

Hi all,
Since the subject of both JT modes and heatsinks cropped up recently in

happy with the increased frequency stability after installing the
PAE-Kx31 heatsink. Several say they can now use JT65 in contests at

Hi all,
I talked with Wayne at Dayton regarding changing the KX3 PA Mode function to
automatically enable when the KXPA100 was attached, and disable when it was not. Maybe
just add another menu selection AUTO ?
Can anyone think of a downside to doing this?

Hi all,
I am in the process of switching ISPs, and thanks to the genuises at the
old ISP, the Pro Audio Engineering website will be unavailable for a day
or so. You can still get the Kx31 Heatsink Kit through eBay during this
period.
Thanks for your patience.

Hi Ken, list,
I've done some pretty serious thermal studies of the KX3
(http://proaudioeng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/PAE-Kx31-chart1.jpg). I looked that
the Go Box concept a while ago and agree; The problem with the idea is that
the KX3 uses the case back for all it's PA heatsinking.
Julie,
Another excellent option is the KeyLogGo from

In addition to sending and displaying CW, RTTY and PSK from the keyboard it is
also a full-functioned

Thank you, and sorry to use list BW!

Fred and I haven't formed a joint partnership yet, so you have a heatsink from
one or the other of us! lolol
Both do the job vis-a-vis JT65 with differing attributes otherwise.

I am looking to get in touch with Matthew Skidmore, K9FOX regarding his

Hi all,
I apologize for this use of BW, but I am currently not able to post to
the KX3 list.
If you are interested in, or have ordered this accessory for your KX3,
please go to my website at:

I have updated news and delivery status announcements.
See you at Dayton!

Hi,
I really appreciate the higher resolution and detail available using the
P3SVGA, but I have no room for a separate monitor in my setup. I have
been using the monitor's input switching to see the P3SVGA's display but
it is clumsy and slow, and I want to be able to see my logging software
verified that this setup
works correctly with the P3 Utility to UL the new P3 firmware and with
the K3 Utility, and then made no other changes afterward.
I tried a full power-down and PC reboot, trying the KPA powered on
first, etc., no joy.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Well stated.
I would add to the discussion, young people in particular are not as fixed in their

My P3 works well, however sometimes (like right now) it will make little

the display will jump up and down.

I have been twisting the KX3's PBT I/II knob madly in an attempt to
change BW or CF rapidly, but in reality when I turn it more slowly the
function actually changes more rapidly. Two possible explanations are
either the encoder pulse rate exceeding the I/O refresh rate, or the

Seems to me Elecraft already has a great linear DC supply:
It's built into the KPA500.
Repackage it as a stand-alone, done.
It is too late to add a 13.8VDC aux supply to the KPA-500, and besides, I don't
know if it has an internal supply with appreciable current capability

Depending on cost, I'd bite, and it would be a nice addition to the K-line. I
