Well if you want studio microphones, Heil is a possibility, you just
need to be on the 'pro' side of the website, and not the
'communications'
The proset, even for the K2, has a stereo connector for the headphones
and a mono connector for the mic.
I purchased one from Elecraft for the K2, and it is working well on
the rear panel connectors of the K3.

diodes in the swr/power monitor. When the K2 controller doesn't get a
power reading it just keeps on trying. Eventually you reach the
current limit.

Sounds like you are missing one channel of the encoder -- first step
is to check the soldering. Looks like the two encoder channels ENC A
and ENC B go to the RF board via pins and 13 of J1. Check the
soldering on those pins on the RF board and the front panel board,
also pins 9 and 16 the MCU
auxBus peripherals. It will support the transverters and KRC2, but
