I'll add my vote of thanks for Don's assistance as well. It's been a while
since I built my K2 but I do recall having to bounce a few questions off the
group and Don was always quick to answer. I may not yet be finished with
working on the critter so may require help sometime again. There is a
Good choice.
NO noise blanker here and none needed so I can't help with that. The K2 has
one of the quietest receivers I have used and I like it.
I have the 160 module and the ssb module and that's it. I mainly use mine
for cw so the ssb is not a particularly needed item but from time to

Congrats once again on the K2 and the QSO. I don't have the noise blanker
and unless I go
the width of the
filter until the actual width is what you want, and use the K2 display
only as a relative indicator.

Congrats on the K2 receiving on 40. It's only a month or so back that I
finished mine so easy for me to remember the thrill of hitting the switch

Is there any chance that Elecraft will develop a data jack add-on kit for

I do a lot of PSK and other digital modes with mine, and it's a pain to

that stage. I do have a scope so maybe I can utilize it to best advantage
for setting up the audio and the filters.
Just wanted to pass along my thanks for the replies received to my question.

The speaker audio seems a trifle low on my K2. With headphones it's good but
I have to crank the volume control quite high to get decent audio output
from the speaker. I suspect that the audio is just as designed. Is that
typically the case with the K2? Or should I be looking for a problem?

Let me build a K2, or any other Elecraft kit, for you. You will receive a
brand new radio with the options you want. I have built very close to 300
K2's to date. My prices are reasonable. Please respond directly, not on
the reflector.
