I have noticed that after my KPA1500 gets above 50C the SWR indicator light
starts to show intermittent high SWR. My KPA500 did not do that. I'm using
resonant yagis and the digital SWR meter shows 1.1:1 and doesn't change nor
does the SWR indicator on the K3S. It seems the SWR indicator lights

I can't seem to find a hook up diagram for the entire K Line. I know I've seen
it somewhere but can't find it. Can someone direct me to a diagram?
Thanks in advance.

I am putting together the KAT500 Tuner and the Thermal Tape for R6 on the
bottom of the board is not in the parts bag. Is there any substitute for the
thermal tape or should I wait to get it from Elecraft?

Ron,
Thanks for the recommendation. I followed the procedure to remove the front
panel, but the result was the same.
Thanks again,

I have a K3 that has been sitting on shelf for a while. I powered it up today,
after it was on for ~5 minuted, I get a ERR FPF.
After a little research I learn I need to reload the flash file. I used the
utility to update the MCU and then when the FPF tried to load I got this
message.
Is it stiff enough?

What input voltage is it configured for?
Check manual for voltage tap info.

If amp still fails, I would check all connections internal to the amp.
Guess you could also see if the K3 is shutting down...

Mike,

I just bought a lightly used KPA500. It arrived from the seller, well packed
and complete with cables, manuals, etc. I turned the amp on, interfaced it
with my K3, keyed the radio and the KPA500 immediately shut-off. No fault
light or error code, nothing. It shuts down just as if I had pressed the
