United Kingdom AC and DC Power Standards

1998-04-21 Thread Dwayne Kirkpatrick
I'm interested in acquiring United Kingdom (Britain) AC and DC power standards for designing and installing AC and DC power systems. 1. Do you know where I can find or acquire United Kingdom standards for AC power and DC power? 2. Is there an equivalent United Kingdom electric code similar to

That's right, if any MOV fails, it fails by leaking more and more and more and more and then somebody is going to say aauauauauaua:((( No kidding, you may use MOV's for surge suppressing between phases, but not connect it to ground for the reasons above. You may use

RE: Use of MOV's ???

Jeff - This rumor doesn't make much sense as an across-the-board requirement, especially considering UL has a component product category for MOVs and other transient voltage surge suppressors, along with some product standards that allow reductions of over-surface and through-air electrical

Doug If you haven't done so already, you might try ANSI/AAMI standard DF-39 Automatic External Defibrillators and remote control defibrillators. I used it a long while ago when testing the surge immunity of an implanted device. I don't remember the design specifics of the standard, because I was

I believe that this question is too general. In general, I would not feel comfortable not doing 100% dielectric testing, but you must look at your particular construction to figure this out. For instance, refer to table 6A concerning insulation in printed boards. Most cases require 100%, or

Has anyone worked on defibrillators? My slight reading on the subject has found widely differing limits. And the milli-amp spec is from the hand only. Especially the right hand. One reason why long ago, I was taught to work on tubes with one hand - if current was to pass through you from

I recently received an e-mail from a colleague on the east coast stating that UL has joined TUV Rheinland in NOT accepting the use of MOV's in primary circuitry. The reasoning behind this is due to the unpredictable dielectric break down of these components which
