Bill,
Thanks for your advice. I believe it is a new requirement and afraid no
accredited labs doing this test. It sounds the big labs should be equipped
with the necessary facilities since the standard becomes in force already.
Thanks to all replies!

Does anyone know of a Spec An that has copious amounts of internal memory

I've been very happy in all respects with the X-series analyzer we got this
summer from Agilent. It's a PC/Instrument combo, so there's plenty of space on
the hard drive and we have access to network storage through the Ethernet port.
Hi All,
I just mailed my Fall 2011 EMC Design Newsletter out to all current
subscribers. This issue contains a review article on the Beehive near-field
probe set I use, a description of how I use a low-cost comb generator to
measure enclosure shielding effectiveness and a short article on why
Hi All,
I need to purchase a battery charger for EMCO 6502 loop antenna. I am not sure

Subject: Battery charger for EMCO 6502 loop antenna
Hi All,
I need to purchase a battery charger for EMCO 6502 loop antenna.
EMC Compliance has an Eaton 96020 loop, which is just a re-badged EMCO 6502,
and a Radio Shack 12 Vdc, 500 mA charger works just fine.

Hi,
Has anyone worked with Industrial Panel shops for CE? UL508A is for Panel
Shops in the USA. Is EN60204 the equivalent for the EU?

EN60204 should be compared to NFPA79, not UL508A. Much of the US industrial
electric code was derived from IEC60204, and UL508A is used to indicate
component conformity for use in industrial applications that must comply
with NFPA79. There are some wiring and equipment scope differences between

Hi Doug,
I remember being in Germany right before the Machinery Directive went
mandatory. I was on site for a client that had a machine injure a man. The
AHJ (not sure what you call them in Germany) didn't speak English and we had an
