Which countries, if any, require that products for domestic and office type use
are supplied only with a moulded mains plug (i.e. do not permit products to be
fitted with a re-wireable plug)?

Actually Edison Illuminating Company of America installed the first electric
lights on the UK railway in the 1920s at Fenchurch Street (London) so they used
what they were experienced with ... and because its safer.
The UK railway hasn't changed it since.

Dear Colleagues;
I am trying to establish the maximum measurement frequency for radiated
emissions for a digital device that is an unintentional radiator (part 15).
Is it set by the highest frequency generated internally in a microprocessor or
DSP or is it the maximum frequency that is tracked
Bolivia has a 50Hz grid, but some parts of the country operate at 110V while
other parts operate at 220V. There is some mixing of the 2 voltages in some
areas. I was in a room in La Paz where one side of the room was 110V and the
other side was 220V, with the same type of receptacles and no

I believe that this is a complete book, but there is a section on Free space

Isn’t that in IEC 61000-4-3 newest edition too ?

What is the impact on the original NRTL certification of a product that is
refurbished or remanufactured? Is there any guideline for this?
I see a growing market for refurbished and remanufactured electrical products
as a green initiative and am curious what companies are doing with regard to

Aleast one NRTL (UL) has a program that covers this. Basically they will
write a new report covering the refurbishment process and then audit you to
it - - just like they do for 'new' product. I assume the fees are about
the same as a new product, so they get to bill you twice...

The recent surprise I ran into was the low frequency requirement...
The TCB required test data down to the lowest freq stated - a ~ 32kHz clock.
Trivial, but a test never the less!!! Another day to get the data!!
