Hello Brian, I don't think this is new. The oldest reference I have is from November 2013. However, this is just because my files on the subject don't go back further. I believe these have been harmonized standards under the marking directive for a long time.

Had several of them; dropped them; don’t need them; don’t want them; never helped me get work, never stopped me from getting work. So, while the certs look pretty, they have little meaning and unless a company pays for them, they simply are not worth the expense. But that is just my view.

Hmmm Doug, well that’s an interesting one. You might consider doing what John McCloskey (Chief EMC Engineer for NASA’s James Web Space Telescope) did and perform the immunity tests on just the electronics control package, rather than the whole enchilada (in John’s case, the entire satellite).
