Hi All,
I am trying to track down information regarding the using mercury wetted
relays in automated test equipment.
I am aware that Sweden disallows mercury as a national deviation to 60950.
Are there any restrictions for 61010?
Are there are any other directives that prohibit use of mercury?
Greetings everyone,
I just chatted with one of the authors of ANSI C63.4 (1992) where the
procedure for radiated emissions is defined. I found out that it was
the committee's intent that the distance be measured from a radius set
by the furthest point of the EUT during rotation. Of course the
Taiwan's BSMI requires approved, class A ITE products have a label with the

Hi Richard,
There could be several ways to go depending on if harmonized standards exist
for your device or not. I will assume that at the time you had it tested
originally, they did not since you used Annex IV and not Annex III.
Somewhat relevant to this topic, we had used Annex IV on a radio
Another point is that at lower voltages, the real rise times (the dv/dt) can
be quite a bit higher --- especially below about 5kV

This is a great idea. Thx.
A similar approach, used a lot in U.S. government documents, is to state the
acronym in parentheses immediately after the first use and then just use the
acronym throughout the rest of the document as if everyone knows what it means.

Paul,
I can't cite the exact clauses, because another engineer has borrowed all my
product safety standards, but UL 1950 has a deviation that calls for the primary
plug of a device to be rated for 125% of the device's rated input current. UL
applies this requirement to wall plugs, cordage, IEC
I think if I want to have the 1995 version with amendments A1 and A2, the only
way I can find is from CENELEC, not from BSI, who will provide you with A12 and
