Just a followup to my original question. Here's the original tool table
from 1996, from the WinNT version of EMC at GM/Pontiac Powertrain:
POC FMS LEN DIAMCOMMENT

I don't know but I would guess why EMC2 is on UBUNTU 6.06 LTS is the LTS
(Long Term Support).
I am expecting the next version of UBUNTU to be a new LTS version.
Why get hung up on LTS?
It keeps down the having to redo 'everything' for no significant gain for
the supported package. LTS has a
I have an EMC2 based system that I've been working with for a very short
time, I think it's 2.2.1. I've observed (possibly incorrectly) that in a
block containing G43H, the references the FMS field of
records in the tool table, whereas in a block containing G[41 or
42]D, the seems to refer to the
For those of us who can not make the trip, are you going to video the
talk and place the video where we can see it?
Thanks

I haven't been to the EMC gathering in Illinois, so I simply
don't know. It certainly sounds like a better source of
EMC-specific info than Cabin Fever, though, if only because
there's nothing else going on to distract you!

I use EAGLE, and would be interested in learning more about this.

Is anyone interested in drawing the HAL-configuration with the EAGLE CAD
schematics-editor (http://www.cadsoft.de)?
I did not find a tool to configure my emc2 graphically, so I built a

While Cabin Fever is certainly worth the trip, I would not count on
it for lots of hands on advice on EMC. There will likely be a couple
of setups running EMC and a few people who can offer advice,

Hi Ed,
Two of us are considering coming to cabin fever expo from some 6 hours away
up in New York. The purpose of our trip is to get some exposure to EMC2 in
a general overview with regards to connection to a machine and also in
detail with regards to software languages that need to be known to d

EMC can be configured (using HAL) for many different spindle control
arrangements. If you have PWM, CW, and CCW on your parport, it is
because you (intentionally or not)

Aram,
You live somewhat close to Central Point. It is a suburb of
Medford. It looks as if it may be a long day trip. It would be worth
the investment in time and gas to see the address and hopefully talk
to someone face to face. Do they have machines in a warehouse or on a
display floor? Is the

Hey Forrest. Don't get me wrong here. I'm not meaning to turn you away
from your goal. I only mean to point to issues between you and it.

Hello,
I want to use EMC2 at UBUNTU 7.10. I read wiki installing page and I dont
understand how to compile EMC2.
Firstly i download source from this link
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=6744&package_id=188858.
Now I wrote ./configure --enable-run-in-place in "src directory"
