I wish it was "only" 50%. But WM has been my go-to store when I need

Hi all,
The marine 2 part paints are very good re finish and durability, however
many of them are not for amateur use. You can get them from marine
suppliers, but they don't encourage sales to DIY folk.
Many of the best two part marine topside paints are LPU (Linear
Polyurethane). LPU paints

Usually when they put "marine" on the label the price automatically gets
jacked up 50%. :-(
Two part poly/urethane paint is great stuff, but it is also very
toxic. Isocyanates are usually used as a catalyst.
You need to be very careful with that stuff. I have used it, and it
works great,
Ben,
I have complete set (4 sets) of Z15-1-240V drives and servo motors. I am
willing to sell them. Where are you located? I am in Lithuania.
Write me if you are interested to:

I will be able to send some photos..

They are most likely either NPN or Darlington NPN

Don't, until you have checked the motor for intermittent
shorts to ground. (Since you put the drive back, and it
Thanks all,
I'll swap the X drive onto the Z motor in the morning and do that test.
The drive is a Bosch Z15-1A-240 - which is a thyristor drive. I'll pull the
output pack and see if I can find any identifying marks on the thyristors.
Thanks

Gene,
Do you live anyplace near a large body of water. If so there is a
West Marine store near you. Look for the paint there. They sell
stuff used by boat owners who keep their boat in salt water 24x7. The
best paint I found there is a catalyzed two part polyurethane. It
comes in two cans.

it may be of use for readers to know RAL is a standard for colors used
by many machine manufacturers
I know from matching customers desired machine color to manufacturer's
resources.
and
readers can buy a RAL color swatch pretty cheap on eBay.
Europe & Asia use it, UK also
but good ol USA
Your testing technique is good. I don't know the particular servos that you
have, but on my BP, the servos have a tach feedback. Since the runaway
condition happened on 2 different motors but the same drive, either the input
from the tach feedback may be bad, or you've got a output device
I would try putting the X drive connected to the Z motor in place of the
Z drive. If it runs fine then you know that the servo motor, tach,
encoder, and wiring into and out of the drive are all fine for the Z
axis and thus the drive would have to be the problem.

So, the Z was blowing the fuse, but now it runs at max speed?
Do you have tachometers?

For lathe parts a brush is far more convenient, and you can put more
on quickly too.
I used

Good afternoon,
I've got a converted Bridgeport Interact which decided to give up the ghost
last week. I think that one of the servo drives/amps is dead, and am hoping
that someone can sanity check my troubleshooting before I start spending
money.
Before I removed any wires, I checked the

He got 8 inches ... which is very common up there. You have had it
easy this winter.
I'm 200 miles south and I was getting used to 60 degrees in February! :-)
I started my snowblower in November and ran it once in December
The Rustoleum Topside Enamel that is being sold by Lowes, Home Depot,
Menards etc is good stuff and it dries hard after just a couple days.
Its a one part paint.
Made for boat decks and above-waterline applications on boats. Its oil
based and I've been really happy with it on boats and
The DMM servo system I have sitting on my bench at the moment has an
input to allow the motor to free wheel but still keep the encoder on
line. I haven't tried it yet but in theory you could have a free wheel
switch to flip when you wanted to move by hand then switch back once in
position.
I
