Good Afternoon group,
Man, what a interesting discussion.
One of the last comments I read was asking about the quality of Chineese
products available to the public sucks, then what about the quality of
products available to places like your local nuclear plant ?
And it got me to thinking. About the
Happy New Year to all,
I was once told that the actual money being made in the manufacturing of
those little brass fittings is not so much in the fittings themselves as it
is in brass scrap being resold as scrap. If you pay much attention to the

Good afternoon group,
I am looking for someone who can digitize a three dimensional object and
output it to a .IGS file.
I have a small railroad style coupler that fits in your hand, (1/8" scale)
and I would like to get it digitized so I can make a wax mold pattern to do
lost wax castings of this c

that is 8.04 ?
I too have previously downloaded 8.04 (live CD) and could not get that

Good evening group.
Someone on here had mentioned that my little mill was from Cardinal Eng, and
it is. So just out of curiousity I did a google search and found Cardinal
Eng. And just for kicks I called the number just a few minutes ago and heard
Roland's voice on the answering machine. So I left
Ok. guys (and gals, if there are any.)
I sort of like the idea of tearing into Hal to reconfig in order to get out
what will work.
I understand the principal of using the Hal scope to check signal traces,
and Dale also said he has a scope I can use. So either way there would be

I keep forgetting to mention that the guy from Centroid tells me that these
are Bipolar motors.
Thanks,

Wow...that was a lot of stuff
First of all I have to say that I am really impressed with what some of you
guys have put on the web as projects.
Kirk, I went to your web site and you tear into a machine like I tear into a
locomotive. Your lathe project was impressive. Have you finished it yet ?
Craig, and list,
You are correct. It is a Cardinal Engineering unit.
I had forgotten about the name on the spindle belt cover. As you can see in
the picture the belt cover is not present because when the head as close to
the table as it is for most of the work I do, the belt cover does not

Some of the operations that are "within" the Centroid controller are things
like a circle drilling program, circle milling program, pocket milling
program, face milling program, letter/number engraving. All called up on a
single one line of code. It will also do some simple macros as well.
And yes
Good Afternoon listers,
I have posted a picture of my mini mill.
The reason I wanted to do a conversion over to EMC was because the Centroid
OS is very antiquated and when I saw what EMC would do, I knew it would make
the mini mill more flexible.
The Centroid OS has a very limited memory to about 2
Good evening or morning,
The milling machine is basically a benchtop mini mill import. Looks
exactally like a Rong Fu. And I have seen a Jet name brand setting at a
Tractor Supply that was an exact copy. In fact I ordered hand wheels from
Jet for this unit and they worked. Weights about 400 lbs. Ca

O.k. guys, Now I really feel like an idiot.lol
You guys are freaking serious about this
I "assumed" I would get a little encouragement, but I guess I
"under-assumed" the levels of commitment to success that is apparent and

So, from here out I will try to be more open
Good afternoon group.
Well, my project (converting and old Centroid controller over to EMC2) has
hit a very large bump in the road. At least for me it's large. Apparently
the drive cards which I assumed were step and directions drive cards, are
not. They are Chop2 drive cards.
So now, I either put
Good evening listers,
I received my C10 breakout board today and started soldering up my parallel
port pigtail. Got that done and hooked up to Breakout board and opened
Wizard and put each axis through test. I got lights blinking on and off as
commanded...KEWL.
I may just get this thing all hoo
Evening group, or good morning...
On a couple of occasions I have seen "Wiki" mentioned here.
Where do I locate the Wiki that is being mentioned ?
I went to Wiki.com and got lost real fast. Just too many wiki's.
So the big question is Which Wiki Do WeKey in on???
Thank,

Good afternoon group,
I have a .pdf file of my pin configuration for the Centroid controller which
I will be stripping out the board from and using the board to control the
steppers.
The bidirectional breakout board (C10) from CNC4PC.com was suggested and I
would just like a little confirmation tha
Good evening group,
I know this may not sound like a big deal to most of you, but just think
back to when you had your first. ( get your mind out of the gutter...lol)
Now here is something to really chuckle about.

When I get into the bios, I had to go through and check where parallel port
was. It shows at 378/ IRQ7. Then when I go into the IRQ resources it show
IRQ7 as PCI device. Well the parallel port is actually part of the mother
board and not a PCI device, so I changed the parameter to "Reserved".

o.k. I forgot to mention that this is for the mini mill (my first conversion
attempt) and that the drive boards on the Centroid Controller has opto

Good morning listers,
I am cautiously submitting my first official question, but I suspect this

Good morning list,
I am in the process of changing over an old Centroid CNC3 controller (linked
to a mini mill) to the EMC2 set up.
I have read up to ch8 in the users manual. I am by no means this kind of a
computer programmer, but I do have a few years of CNC and CAD CAM
experience. I went through
