I went back and looked again. $34.75 is still nearly 3x what these I use
now cost. Quality, accuracy diffs remain TBD, if you've the stuff to
measure it. I'd certainly expect Tormods stuff to meet or exceed the
normal tolerances for that. Most such measurements are ignored here as
I quite often get the TLO from a conact pad on the table, and touch off
to that so any diffs in the tool mount are moot as long as it doesn't
walk out of the collet. They do have that tendency if working the tool
to its normal capacity.

Thanks Ken.

Now they are $34.75 ($347.50 for 10) for ER20. On the other hand they arrive
quickly, seem good quality and shipping (in the US) is $17.74 for 10.

The last time I looked at the Tormach site, their prices were pretty
scary. Where are they for 10 of them now? I have one of theirs now, and

Finally found some different ones that should work. Delivery could be the
middle of May though. Gr. Each adaptor comes with a 1-13mm collet
kit, and I needed both. No clue where they rolled off to, but my 4-5-6
collets can't be found in that midden heap.

But when it warms up again, if it ever does, I'm side-tracked making a
KREG style drill to counterbore some treated 4x4"'s, need to plant 3 of
them about 2' tall, drop a post case and top over it, after toe screwing
it to the decking & mount some of that fat plastic railing on it for a
safety rail of sorts to prevent a runaway wheelchair from rolling over
the edge of the decking and onto the ramp, which would probably spill my
lady and break more of her paper mache bones. The washer heads of the
screws are around 5/8" in diameter, and need to be sunk into the wood,
kreg screw style, far enough to let the post sleeve pass.

The post covers I don't figure need to be a full 52" tall, so 2 foot of
treated 4x4 in the bottom should be sufficient to stand them up straight
and fairly solidly. These screws, toe screwed into the 2x4 flooring are
all the holddown they'll get.

Thanks Andy, found what I wanted as a $32 combo pack. Slow ship though,
might be 5 weeks! That slow makes the far eastern stuff a bit less
appetizing. And these adapters do not have the tool length registration
collar either. So little no chance of ever using them in a tool changer.

Tormach has reduced the costs from their original prices. With the higher
prices + shipping costs + questionable quality on eBay I have recently
ordered mine from Tormach.

Yes there are. Possibly not on the first page.

I'll go back and look some more. And there still aren't any. TTS tool

[Emc-users] TTS style toolholders

2018-04-07 Thread Gene Heskett
Greetings guy;

What has happened to the chinese (or korean) TTS tool holders?, there are
NONE for sale on ebay tonight. I thought I'd get 10 more of them to go
with the 2 pack of 19 ea metric collets I just bought since its handy to
have them preloaded and ready to go.

Thanks for any leads at a comparable price ($160/10 pack IIRC) that we
bought them for about 2 or 3 years ago.
