This would be in GPG4WIN, not Enigmail.
Werner Koch has explicitly said in the past that he considers C&P into
passphrase fields to be a disastrous mistake.

Thanks to all those that responded to my question.
I appreciate your help and have decided to follow the advice given by
Patrick since it's probably the easiest option for many of my "not too
technical" users.
