I've been having some issues lately that I've finally traced down to
two flags to the configure. I have to throw a lot of them to get
enlightenment building on my system (no systemd, no pulseaudio and a
few other oddities), which also means I have to throw the

I have just received a new laptop and I am running into problems with e17,
e18 and e19.
The laptop has the GeForce GTX 860M, which means I have to deal with
Optimus.
If I try to work w/ bumblebee, I get a warning when I start e saying my
card doesn't support OpenGL. This makes sense, I think, be
I just upgraded today to e18.8. All of my settings were preserved, but
there is something wrong with the theme selection, I think?
My first question is how do I know if a theme is for e17 or e18? So far, I
have assumed that anything with 18 in the name is for e18. This may be the
root cause of my
That is going to be my approach. I will spend a little time trying to
understand ibox, ibar and tasks. I hope anything I need to know will be in
one of those three.

My understanding is that engage hasn't compiled for a while, due to changes
in the compositing layer.
I really miss engage. I miss it enough I will attempt to fix it. I can code

After you start the VM and give it focus, take the focus out and turn on
your numlock. Fixes the problem every time for me. It works with cap locks
too, Burr that is a bit more annoying.
You should notice the keys that go missing are ones bound to short cuts.
I've had this issue for a while, but i
Do you have keybindings associated with the missing keys? I have this
problem all the time when using vmware. Any key that I have bound to a
shortcut simply stops working as soon as I type into a vm guest.
The fix (for me) is pretty simple. I turn on the numlock and that seems to

just doesn't work as well for me.

I need some help. I am assuming this is something on my machine, since
nobody else has mentioned seeing these issues.
I have built rev 79984 and every time I try to start E, nothing happens.
When I switch back to my terminal window, I just see PAUSE. I have tried
this with a clean ~/.e and I see n
It would seem that installing elementary requires elm_prefs_cc to be
installed. The problem is that you need to install elementary to get
elm_prefs_cc installed.
I worked around this by changing elementary/src/Makefile so that the
elm_prefs_cc parameter was a relative reference to bin/elm_prefs_cc

Has this been repaired yet? I got the warning about 20 minutes after I had
rebuilt E. I'm missing my shelves.
Thanks,

Normally, I wouldn't pile onto this.
I have used enlightenment since before imlib existed and e shelled out to
ImageMagik for format conversions. I still kind of miss the little lamps on
the app launcher.
Has there ever been an actual non-development release of enlightenment?

For the longest time, I have been having a really odd problem with vmware.
Every time I started a guest OS, I would lose portions of my keyboard as
soon as vmware tools started running in the guest. When I say portions, I
mean just certain keys -- like "a", "s", "d" but not "q". It was

e17 has become very unstable on my machine. Within a few seconds of
starting up, I can reliably crash it. All I need to do is leave the
focus on the engage bar at the bottom of my screen, wait a few seconds
and then move the mouse. It would appear that I can crash e17 hard
enough that I don't even

You need to back-rev your libfribidi.
I had to go from v0.19.1 back to v 0.10.9. At least on gentoo, that was
really only one version level.

I have always seen this in association with itask-ng. If I stop using
