Once a week is what raster tries to do. Sometimes there is no such
stability point during the week, sometimes he is just too busy.

I'm not so sure that asparagus = enlightenment.freedesktop.org
snapshot. Asparagus doesn't happen once a week and is not supposed to.

[e-users] Desktop Icons / File Manager

2007-05-19 Thread Emerson Falcon
For those that may know how. After the addition of Desktop Icons, the file
manager now only displays contents as "icons". I would like to set this
back to "list view" if at all possible. Please let me know if this is do
able or not, and if so, where I should start looking to configure it back
this way.

thanks,
Jonathan

I checked out imlib2, imlib2_loader, and e16 again, and then rebuilt them.
Now I'm running the new e16, and the characters on the menu are being shown
normally using:
  font-menu "VL-PGothic-Regular/8"
Thanks, Kim. This font issue seems to have gone away.

[e-users] font issue of e16

2007-05-19 Thread Yasufumi Haga
Hi all

I'm using the version 0.16.8.9-0.00 of e16 and "winter" theme, and trying
to customise the fonts used in e16.

I'm editing $HOME/.e16/fonts.cfg.ja which I copied there from
  /usr/local/share/e16/themes/winter/fonts.cfg.ja
to change the fonts. When I changed a font in the file, I followd the
description in docs/README-0.16.8 to specify a font, and used two of the
ways in it:
  1) "/", e.g. "Vera/8"
  3) Fontconfig font names, e.g. "Luxi Sans-10:bold"
Now I noticed that how it looked in the first way was really different than
how it looked in the other way, though I used the same font in both ways.
For example, when I specify a font in the first way for the menu font in
"fonts.cfg.ja" like this:
  font-menu "VL-PGothic-Regular/8"
the menu is shown like this:
  http://homepage3.nifty.com/peterpan/x00/ss-strange.jpg
and using the other way for the menu font like this:
  font-menu "VL PGothic-8:medium"
it's shown like this:
  http://homepage3.nifty.com/peterpan/x00/ss-normal.jpg
What could make a difference between them?

I used "VL-PGothic-Regular.ttf" font located at
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType
in this case, and fc-list command says the font is "VL PGothic,VL
Pゴシック:style=regular".
I added "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType" to theme.ttfont_path in
$HOME/.e16/e_config--0.0.cfg file like:
  theme.ttfont_path =
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType:/usr/share/fonts/alias/TrueType
to let e16 find the font.

Regards.

No, the root button actions will not work when you have nautilus
covering the root, but you can get the root menus with Ctrl-Shift-F1/2/3.

You seem to be using e16 0.16.7.x. It has some issues in that area.
The only way to fix it is really to remove
~/.enlightenment/...e_session-XX, losing most of your settings.

There should be default keybindings for that (Alt-Shift-Left/Right/...).

If you want to use e16 I suggest you upgrade to e16 0.16.8.x and take a
look at README-0.16.8 and bindings.cfg.
