Ola!

just create an .eap that executes what you want on startup and put in
in ~/.e/e/applications/startup or list it in the .order file there.

And to set the background it is indeed enough to use
'Esetroot -scale /path/to/some/background.png' or .jpg whatever

E itself remembers it's wallpaper setting. So you just need to Esetroot
the original image to force fake transparency.

some links i found:

something about that kdetrayproxy stuff:

 Hi all:
I have been able to download e17 from packman server to install it in
 my openSUSE 10 RC1.
But I have not been able to execute enlightenment due to an error in
 the lib edje.so.0:
 **
 /usr/lib/libedje.so.0: undefined symbol: evas_smart_above_get_set
 **
It's better to install it from the sources or is a bug that will
solved waiting for the news rpms version.
 Thanks

Please contact the packager directly. [EMAIL PROTECTED] is his mail. Or,
as he's now a member of the packman team, contact packman ;)

current CVS is working OK. so there must be some inconsistency in the
packages. so maybe compile it yourself. there are mayn useful scripts
out there.

Subject: [E-devel] E17 keyboard indicator module

Hello all,

I've developed an E17 keyboard indicator module. If you are English
(and only English) speaking user, you probably don't need this module
at all. Any other user which may wants to switch from his or her native
language to English and back may use this module to get simple but (I
hope !) nice indicator - his or her country's flag.

If you are interesting with this stuff, see http://e17.siteburg.com.

Dmitry

Do anybody know, what font is used in the terminals?

That's aquafont -- http://aquablue.milkcafe.to/

I am using conky which is a torsmo descendant in debian and e17
 environment.

 The problem I have is:

when I enable 'double_buffer' to yes to avoid conky flickering, the
whole screen is messed and the covered with wobbling grey color.

How to make conky stop flickering while maintain a clean desktop? Any
 workaround to 'double_buffer' problem?

That's the same problem as with torsmo. e17 takes total control over
the root window, while conky tries to directly draw on it - so it's
like a fight between them, lol.

no idea about a solution - wasn't there an option for torsmo to make it
use it's own window instead of drawing to root window? than making that
borderless, and allways below might do the trick..

It would be great to If you could send me your patch, I had an Idea
how to build in and have a menu entry to select the player.
I allready thought about that, because eclair support is also in my

Hi Friedrich!

I just did a grep -R -i 'xmms-config' and replaced everything there
with beep-config. in src/xmms.c I just replaced
# include xmms/xmmsctrl.h
with
#include beep-media-player/bmp/beepctrl.h

also replaced gtk1.2 and glib-1.2 stuff with gtk/glib-2.0

then re-ran libtoolize and autogen. Anyways patch is here:
http://gimpel.ath.cx/~tom/eloquence-beep-0.4.patch , but note that it
breaks xmms support!
That was more a good luck work than really knowing what i did, cause
i'm no coder and knowledge is limited to the VERY basics..

And yeah! eclair support would be very awesome too! :)

Regards!
Tom

That sounds as if beep media is very similar to xmms, I'll emerge it
and try to build support for it directly into eloquence

indeed! xmmsctrl.h and beepctrl.h are pretty much the same.

also replaced gtk1.2 and glib-1.2 stuff with gtk/glib-2.0
I don't know if that has to be done, glib is only included for having
a variable of type gint, so gtk1 should be enough and is more likeley
 installed maybe on many systems.

beep uses gtk2. that's why i prefer using it. all in all bmp is a port
of xmms to gtk2. but if that change is really needed.. not sure...

then re-ran libtoolize and autogen. Anyways patch is here:

I believe the biggest problem is my insufficient knowledge of all the
funny makefile stuff, the idea is to let configure check if beep media
player is found, and if so, compiles support in and enables an option
in the menu to select the player...i'll see...

Yeah that would be the best. Sorry i can't help with that either... no
real idea of it (yet). But lots of good people here on the list, maybe
someone helps out ;)

And yeah! eclair support would be very awesome too! :)
Yep, but I haven't even looked in eclair's code now to check where I
 can get an entry point...

 Friedrich

Hi!

how does your structure in $HOME/.evidence look like?
should look like this:
~/.evidence/icons/gant_128 # or the size you want to use
~/.evidence/themes/gant
~/.evidence/themes/fonts/mikachan-PB.ttf
~/.evidence/themes/fonts/vera.ttf
etc

What are the terminals? It says urxvt on the window, but there are 3
rxvt-like terminals, such as: rxvt, mrxvt, rxvt-unicode. Which one is
he/she using? Or, which one is a good one and provides me that nice
transparency? BTW, I'm using enlightenment 17. I always use xterm but
I can't get transparency (even that I almost haven't tried).
 Cheers,

Hi!

That's rxvt-unicode. and you have to force pseudo transparency with
Esetroot (part of Eterm)
