hmm so tiler is null in _e_comp_shapes_update_job() ... why? shit seems to me
to need to add debug to that function - like what does eina_tiler_new() return?
what are e_comp->w and e_comp->h ?

spitting out Eina stack traces until the home partition is filled up.

This is an Ubuntu 22.04 with efl and e pulled from March 5th
It shows version 0.25.99.24894.

That is the error I copied from logs, to make the system usable
again I remove the log file and restart GDM.

I tried to copy and paste as it shows there but I am not sure it
did something. Also I completely removed e & efl and installed
again, just in case it was some old lib forgotten out there.

Is there something else I can try ? Thanks !

Thanks !

I see. There are a number of errors, all repeated a few times. I can
summarise these as follows:

First eina doesn't like something in my locales:

ERR<4555>:eina_safety /var/tmp/portage/dev-
libs/efl-/work/efl-/src/lib/efreet/efreet_ini.c:412
efreet_ini_localestring_get() safety check failed: ini->section == NULL

Then efl and udisks2 have a spat:

ERR<4620>:eldbus /var/tmp/portage/dev-
libs/efl-/work/efl-/src/lib/eldbus/eldbus_proxy.c:818 _props_get_all()
Error getting all properties of org.freedesktop.UDisks2
/org/freedesktop/UDisks2/block_devices/sda1, error message:
org.enlightenment.DBus.Canceled Canceled by user.

The above is repeated for each partition on the drive.

Then evas has the problem with rendering some image:

ERR<4544>:evas-gl_x11 /var/tmp/portage/dev-
libs/efl-/work/efl-/src/modules/evas/engines/gl_x11/evas_engine.c:1997
_native_bind_cb() eglCreateImage() for Pixmap 0x0xa019c5 failed: 0x3003

Nevertheless none of the above limit my enjoyment of the desktop. :-)

Yes I can remove word wrapping so they look more tidy, attach a txt file
and/or use pastebin, but ...

I built efl, enlightenment, xorg-server and mesa with:

CLAGS="-O2 -ffast-math -march=native -g -ggdb3"

Do I need more?

Hmm ... I assume you built efl in /home/raster/C/, while I built it in
/data/tmp_var/portage/ but this directory is cleared out after the package is
installed. Is it necessary to retain all the build time files?

this above says an egl image create failed. when binding a native pixmap...
which is how compositing works (and transforms pixmaps to eglimages to then
textures to use to render with). this generally shouldn't happen unless
something really bad is going on (pixmap too big? pixmap invalid? driver issue?
).

the above is a machine readable backtrace of where the issue happened. which
function called which other function down the tree (the top of this is the
leaf/top of the tree branch, the bottom is the root where it all started). it
asks you to use eina_log to make it readable (because doing this is expensive
vs the above dump and so eina will not automatically do this every single time
as it'd slow down the calling process a lot).

As I understand it, you don't need what is in the "trunk/IN-EFL" folder on
subversion. The developers have just moved the old efl libraries (eina
etc.) to this subversion folder instead of deleting them from the tree
altogether. Probably they are there for posterity.

In your easy_e17.sh file, there should be no mention of eina, evil, eet,
evas, embryo or eo. These all need to be removed and replaced by efl. If
easy_e17.sh is still trying to pull/compile files for the old efl
libraries, then these are still listed somewhere in your easy_e17.sh script
and should be removed.

In my old easy_e17.sh I had a line like this:
efl_basic="eina eet eobj evas ecore edbus efreet eio eeze e_dbus embryo
edje azy ethumb elementary"

mine now reads:
efl_basic="efl ecore edbus efreet eio eeze e_dbus embryo edje azy ethumb
elementary"

and there is no more mention of eina etc. in the easy_e17.sh script.

When running now, it no longer tries to compile/install the old efl
libraries.

I hope this helps to clarify things.

I tried it but it doesnt work because eina and other libraries are in

(but efl compiles well)

change this:

to this:
in_efl="efl"

the package efl contains all of the items on the first line now.

Your method doesnt work at all...
I edit the script:

in_efl="eina evil eet evas embryo eo"

Update is ok but when compiling I got :

eina ... autogen: ERROR!

Do not use this tree anymore - use the efl tree instead.

Open the script, look for the variable 'efl_basic', remove all the individual
efl libs (eet, evas, ecore, etc...) and replace with only 'efl'. That should do
the trick (that an removing the old ones with a fresh svn checkout, otherwise
updates won't work)

Actually it's pretty simplier because you can build the whole core EFL
with a single command, so easy_e17.sh will be more useful for extra
modules soon.

cd trunk/efl
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/e17 (or what you prefer...)
make
make install

Then,

cd ../e
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/e17
make
make install

The error is quite self-explanatory actually.
You should not use trunk/$foo but trunk/efl/ for eina, eet, evas. eo and embryo.

for efreet you will also need /trunk/edbus and for E17 /trunk/e_dbus

Re: [e-users] Eina Failing to Compile

2011-11-01 Thread Jeff Hoogland
Someone in IRC helped me find the fix. It is related to this bug -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/778047

The fix is:

sudo ln -s /usr/include/asm-generic /usr/include/asm

Replacing the $(controllerdir) with $(DESTDIR)$(controllerdir) makes
portage happy, and the installation succeeds:

cd "$S/src/modules/mp"
find . -name Makefile.am -exec sed -i -e '/rm -f
\$(controllerdir)/s/\$/\$(DESTDIR)\$/' {} \;

[e-users] Eina static linking and Dolphins

2010-01-30 Thread Steve Jones
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi all,

I've just checked out the latest SVN, and running autogen.sh on Eina
gives the following:

Warning: You are trying to link statically one or more modules to Eina.
You must know what you are doing, or else you will have a lot of problems.
And dolphins will disappear from the earth.
Think about that.

I like dolphins as much as the next man, so I'm a bit worried by this.
What does it mean, and what should I have done? I simply ran autogen.sh
with no options as I've always done.

Steve.

[e-users] Eina autogen failure

Hello,

When I run eina's autogen.sh, I get the following:

My autoconf and automake tools are the following versions:

I never could get a handle on the autotools. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jason

I had this issue when I attempted an update via easy_e17.sh yesterday afternoon.

As of today, midday, it's gone.

I modified my easy_e17.sh, adding eina before evas.

You could
a) compile eina with --prefix=/usr
or
b) add /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig to
PKGCONFIG_PATH

I'm more confused about the other configure options. Some
user-understandable docs would be cool.
Or is the default just fine for the average E user on his/her
average desktop PC? :)

Cheers,

Re: [e-users] eina???

2008-10-16 Thread Wido
well, i've encountered more problems. There are lots of apps using
edje, but edje doesn't want to run:

edje_cc -v -id ../data -fd ../data \
../data/theme.edc \
../data/theme.edj
edje_cc: error while loading shared libraries: libeina.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

problem is (was?) thet edje wasn't looking for libeina in ther rigth
place (/usr/local/lib/libeina.so). a simple symlik did the trick. now
i have the same issue, but with headers. All modules look for eina in
the wrong place, and are a bunch of files wich i don't want to
symlink, i would like a cleaner solution
