Dear Henrik,
There is something wrong on kernel module level.
The master module does not fit to your running kernel.
Please have a look at "dmesg".
You can run the master with the standard distribution kernel to get in
touch with ethercat.
But note: actually it is not possible to tun ethercat on
Hello Andreas,
I installed DKMS for Ubuntu 22.04 with
"sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get -y install dkms".
I can now find several dkms directorys and files.
After I rebooted the system I tried to start ethercat-master with "sudo
systemctl start ethercat", but I got an errormessage:

Hello Andreas,
the cmd line worked now thank you.
I actually looked for the testmanager package and saw that it was named
testmanager-ng, so I tried this instead of "testmanager" but it didnt
work either. Sorry I forgot to mention it.
$ sudo apt-get install testmanager-ng

Dear Henrik,
First uninstall the master modules
Remove
/lib/modules/KERNELVERSION/ethercat
/etc/sysconfig/ethercat.conf
Of course there is no data.
You have to add the packet repo to your OS
1. Get and install the key
KEYRING=/usr/share/keyrings/ethercat.gpg curl -fsSL

your issues.

Hello Mike and Andreas,
at this location I could only find the ethercatctl-file.
However I think I found the right file now in

Hi Henrik
The tool are not found because there not in your path, I think from the
details you provided there at /usr/local/share/etherlab/sbin/
so try
ls /usr/local/share/etherlab/sbin/
and if there is a ethercat in there run it via
/usr/local/share/etherlab/sbin/ethercat master
