I recently purchased a Matrox tv tuner card which gives one many of the
features of Tivo (recording shows, instant replay, timed recordings, etc.).
I'm very happy with image quality and stability. It can produce a 702x480
image which is about as good as you can get without moving into HDTV.

I'm trying to figure out what was meant by perl not having variables.
It could be that Perl is not very fussy about variable declarations like some
other languages.
Or perhaps he's referring to the somewhat crude way that variables are passed
from subroutines. All the values go into an array
Bob,
That's interesting. I've never seen that option.
I'm curious what people have done with it.

I'm a perl programmer so that's what I rely on mostly.
I have looked into php a little, without actually getting
to use it much. My impression of it was that the primary advantage
was that you could embed your code in your html document like
an ASP or Javascript environment. So it's good
Darren,
One thing you might consider is the latency that's inherent to
satellite systems. It wouldn't make much difference in a long file
download, but if you are doing interactive stuff (like telnet sessions)
the lagtime might be annoying.

I hate to see Dihydrogen Monoxide get such a bad rap.
Most of the problems associated with it are related

Are you saying that VMWare has better hardware support than Win4lin?

Thanks for the VMWare review. If it's indeed better than Win4lin
then I'm not sure I'm ready for either one of them.
