I don't know whether Genesis batteries have changed since the Hawker days, but in cyclic use Hawker used to recommend constant voltage charging at 14.7 to 15 volts, with an optional float stage following at 13.65v. Those voltages were at 25 deg C and were meant to be adjusted for temperature

I don't think 16vdc is a good charging voltage for a 12v lead battery. I think I have possibly zorched some batteries. I had a buddy pair of Genesis 13EP 12v that would charge and the green light came on. Seemed they tolerated it. But I hit my Leaf batteries and they zoomed easily to 16vdc so
