What does the list think of this? The basic idea seems to be to get an open
source EV design out there for people to build on.
They claim that the chassis meets requirements for on-road licensing in US and
Europe, but I'm guessing that it'll take more than a bare
Ok, I'm back after some pretty big email problems. I took the time to do a more
complete analysis of my needs. I'll start with the deal killers. If I can't do
them, then I'll just scrap the vehicle and go find a used Leaf.
Pull my boat out of the water. Boat and trailer come in at about 800 kg.
I can't help with parking, but in Saskatchewan it's pretty common for people to
hang their block heater cords 7 or 8 feet above the sidewalk. I don't know if
that would work, but it might be worth a try.

My opinion is that an EV from a mainstream ICE manufacturer is 'real' when I
see ads on TV and reviews by the regular car columnist in local papers. I give
companies like Tesla a pass because of their start up nature and the simple
fact that they don't do ICE.

It reminds me of the a/c I put in the tiny cabin of my boat. 12v pump
circulating lake water through an old heater assembly (heater core and squirrel
cage fan in an enclosure).

For efficient hulls, look to high performance human-powered craft. For example,
some of the same people behind human powered flight had a project for a human
powered hydrofoil. I believe it was called the flying fish. I first read of it
in Scientific American.

because the mass market is the only market being reliably served.
