Honestly I think slow charging during daylight hours at places of work or
shopping could be more appreciated.
Since solar is becoming more and more popular, it makes sense to charge the car
during the daylight hours at work.

No; it will never be 100%. But it could easily reach 50% or even more within
our lifetimes. Longer term, it may well get very close to 100% EV.

100 years ago, ICEs started replacing horses. A century later, there are

I can't begin to imagine a task that would be better suited with an ICE
than an electric motor. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that
you were refering to the energy storage, that some applications are
better suited to using petroleum products rather than a battery for
energy storage.

I'll go as far as to postulate that the ICE would have disappeared long
ago if we had a better way to generate electricty from petroleum in
personal and other vehicles. If we could efficiently and safely run a
small turbine in a car to generate electricty, the manufacturers would
surely have replaced the complicated ICE with an electric motor.

Your seriously comparing horses vs cars with EVs vs ICEs?
Horses were overcome by technology which is not the case here! Some tasks will
always be better suited to combustion engines.

Didn't EV's precede ICE's more than 100 years ago and were very popular in
big cities that had charging stations every few blocks?
Henry Ford's wife and many others drove them because they didn't require
hand cranking to be started.

Very doubtful! We’ve had battery powered lawn equipment for over 10 years now
and they still sale gasoline versions. We will never go 100% EV. Not unless the

I can just see it now, in a few years there are going to be massive parking lots
in Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Baja Calif where parking for gas guzzlers are
going to be parked for $20/day because Calif only has EV charging stations, no
gas stations.

That's a pretty optimistic (?) scenario in a nation where surveys report
that 40% of the population say that they'll never buy an EV under any
circumstances.

Events can sometimes change minds, though.

US ICEV fuel demand has proven pretty resilient when it comes to price.
What really galls drivers, especially rich ones, is serious refueling
inconvenience - like long waits in long lines for limited fuel amounts.

Fifty years ago, in October of 1973, a coalition of mideast states attacked
Israel on Yom Kippur. The US took Israel's side, resupplying their military.
OPEC's response was an embargo on oil shipments to the US and several other
Western nations.

If you were alive then, you know what happened next. If you weren't, your
favorite search engine is your friend.

Well, as fewer cars need gas, stations will close, making it less
convenient for ICE vehicles, so they switch to EV - which causes more
stations to close, etc...
(Not sure if gas prices will drop due to excess production, or go up due
to trying to preserve profit margins while maintaining all those huge
refineries.)
