Hi,
While I agree with Phil, the cable is thin, what he neglects to mention is that
for each hot leg of 220vac, there are 2x11AWG wires, which when added together
is equal to a single 8AWG line. It is Tesla’s practice to combine 2 wires of
the same gauge to carry more amps than they can
I've got a pile of them here where the pilot wire failed in the cable not
far from the handle. Just saying that the wall connector isn't much more
money and is substantially more durable. The mobile connector has about
2-3 volts loss at 32A, while the wall connector is less than half that.

I actually did that on a few of the older 40A units, but then the
weather-tightness is no longer. The 32A units seem to be of lesser quality,
and they fail more easily.
They use a much smaller gauge wire for the
ading the day I have to stop on a steep hill on a real
street. Thanks for any help.

I take it, not economically fixable. LR I would slit the cable lengthwise and
try to patchmight be a fools errand...

One thing to realize is that the DC motor would happily take full power
from the controller, and give you WAY over spec torque at the low end.
