I'm still very confused about what is going on here. If I look at
http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.1/x86_64/ there are now no 3.12
kernels at all, and the most recent kernel is 3.11.10-34.2 from 8th Feb.
Or should I be looking somewhere else?
