I have a colleague whos Exchange 2000 server is being reported as Open
Relay by spamcop for the past month. I have tested his relay by setting
up a POP account in Outlook, putting the server that is being reported
as Open relay as my Outgoing SMTP server.

Is it not recommended to run DHCP and DNS services on the Root server in a
Windows AD setup? I will be upgrading our domain to AD next week and wonder
if I should setup another server or two for the DCHP services and DNS
services.
What should the root server be capable of handling? Should it be
of the day because of our roaming student population. I have AD, DNS,
and DHCP all on the same machine with no worries.

Does the server and PCs have the correct time settings. Look at Regional
setting on both the server and PCs. Make sure you are configured for the
correct Time Zone. For example, I am in the (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (Us
Canada) time zone.

Yesterday, working in Outlook, the Exchange server became unavailable (or
network problems were preventing me from accessing the server). I oversee

We are going to upgrade our NT domain to AD next week. Currently I run
Exchange 5.5 sp4. How will Exchange 5.5 run in an AD environment? How will
it authenticate when the PDC is upgraded to AD?

The online defrag runs daily. I see it scheduled for 1:00a.m. to 7:00a.m.
every day. Is this OK? Just wondering if I should change this. What is
the recommended time for Online maintenance to run and for how long? Their
